Glennis Edwin "Glen" Hays, 65, died Jan. 21, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born April 10, 1949, in Paragould, Ark., to Oliver Norman and Viquenell (Flye) Hays.
He was a 1967 graduate of Paragould High School and attended Business School in Michigan, studying accounting. Glen served in the Unites States Army, retiring on March 31, 1993, and also worked at Haven Steel. On July 7, 1984, Glen married Beatrice "Betty" Tetrault in Providence, Rhode Island. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Glenn R. Hays and wife Melissa of Duncan, Okla.; stepchildren, Master Sgt. Michael P. Therrien of Ft. Dix, New Jersey, Dawn Findley of Coventry, Rhode Island, Joseph Corcoran of Warwick, Rhode Island; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Danny Hays of Anaheim, Calif., Ruth Anne McDonald of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Pratt.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Betty Pinkston presiding. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
