"Nan" Nemcovsky
September 6, 1924 – April 26, 2019
Glennis Berneda 'Nan' Nemcovsky, 94, of Hutchinson, died April 26, 2019. She was born September 6, 1924, in Hyrdo, OK, the daughter of John and Bertha (Kliewer) Warkentin. Nan was the oldest of 6 children. Her family moved to Inman, where she graduated from Inman High School. Nan attended the Adela Hale Business School in Hutchinson.
On April 10, 1953, she married Rudy Nemcovsky in Ankara, Turkey. He died November 24, 1994.
Rudy's job took them all over the United States, where they lived in Ohio, Alaska, New Jersey, California, Colorado, and for many years on Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific. During this time Nan worked as a jewelry buyer and in security at a radar site in the Marshal Islands. In 1978, upon Rudy's retirement, they moved back to Hutchinson to be closer to Nan's family. Nan was very involved with Hospice House. She was a very generous person and enjoyed helping others. Nan enjoyed reading and valued the time she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Norma Jean; brothers, John and Leroy.
Nan is survived by: sisters, Darlene Seibel and husband Wallace of Wichita, Jolene Cross of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Warkentin; niece, Kim Grady and husband Shane; nephews, John Cross and wife Janise, Jim Warkentin and wife, Gretchen, Steve, and Greg Seibel; two grandnieces and three grandnephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
