Gloria M. Foster, 71, died March 13, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Hutchinson, the daughter of George F. and Retha Asher Barnes. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952 and from Hutchinson Community College in 1954. She was a cook at Mitchell School for 33 years, retiring in 2001.

She belonged to Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and was a Mitchell 4-H Club Leader.

On Aug. 29, 1945, she married Edwin H. Foster in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 13, 2004.

Survivors include: their children Nancy Terrill and husband, Jim, Mike Foster and wife, Amy, and Patti Foster and husband, John Peoples, all of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Abby Dresser and husband, Steve, Amanda Terrill, Brett, Mollie and Andrew Foster, and Harleigh and Sydney Foster; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Dresser.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diane Marie Foster.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sara Dillinger presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
