Gloria Montante Gonzalez, 61, began ascending the stairway to heaven on Oct. 4, 2014. She was born April 4, 1953, in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Throughout her life she graced people's lives with her larger than life personality and delicious food. She was a rock for the Gonzalez/Montante family and her trademark stubbornness will be dearly missed. Gloria is survived by: children, Alicia Montante, Agustin Gonzalez, Rocio Gonzalez, Cesar Gonzalez, Angelica Moreno, Maricela Ramirez; siblings, Juan, Carlota, Lucina, Jose, Francisco, Patricia Montante; 21 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Parish rosary will be 1:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2 p.m. both Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
