Gloria Ann Grubbs, 75, died Jan. 15, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 31, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Charles D. and Martha (Ross) Inkanish.
Gloria graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1956, from Emporia State Teachers College in 1960, and attended Sterling College. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in Newton, South Hutchinson, Hutchinson, Plevna, and substitute taught at Partridge and Holy Cross. On June 11, 1960, she married Charles D. Grubbs, in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Benita Rierson and husband Roy of McPherson; son, Darrel Grubbs and wife Kay of Hutchinson; and grandchildren, Chelsey and Logan Rierson of McPherson. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles "Mickey" Inkanish and Thomas Ross Inkanish; and grandson, Garrett Rierson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Darrel Grubbs and Keith Dellenbach officiating. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
