Gloria F. Hawley, 86, died Feb. 22, 2012, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Meade, Kan., the daughter of Floyd and Jane Hawley.

Gloria graduated from Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Community College and obtained her Master's degree at Emporia State. She taught at several schools in Hutchinson, ending her career at Morgan Elementary, where she was a librarian. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include: cousins, Alice Stoughton, Willard Stafford and wife Mary, all of Hutchinson, Wanda Tipton of Valley Center, Kan., Lois Elms of Colorado and Frances Majors of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Fairlawn Burial Park, with Pastor Matt Stafford and Pastor Willard Stafford presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church or Hutchinson Public Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
