Goldie Honomichl, 82, died Oct. 4, 2009, at Golden Plains Health Care Center.

She was born May 19, 1927, in Galva, to Frank B. and Lena Boehs Wedel.

She grew up on a farm near Little River and moved to Hutchinson in 1971. She attended schools in Little River. She graduated from Stewarts Beauty Academy, Salina, and she received a certification from Apostolic Faith Bible School, Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was the retired housekeeping manager at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

She attended the former Peniel Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson. She was a member of the former Z.C.B.J. Lodge, now the W.F.L.A. Lodge, Timken.

In April 1951, she married Harold H. Nease. They were divorced in 1957. In December 1972, she married LaVern L. Honomichl. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Ralph Nease and wife Mary Lou, Hutchinson; a daughter, Deanna Coker and husband Richard, Hutchinson; a stepson, Kevin Honomichl and wife Dianne, DeSoto; a stepdaughter, Trudy Racette and husband Larry, Larned; a sister, Anna Varney, Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Ralph Nease, Jr., Sabin Nease, Tamar Bender and husband Jacob, Frank Coker and wife Debra, Candi Coker, and Golden Coker, all of Hutchinson; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 7, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Harold Wedel presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 6, 2009, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Bean Cemetery, Little River.
