Grace M. Cook, 96, of Hutchinson, passed away Sept. 27, 2015, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler. She was born May 20, 1919, in Abbyville, the daughter of Chester E. and Rosa E. (Wingo) Feese.
On Oct. 16, 1948, Grace married Leonard "Sam" Cook in Raton, N.M. They spent many years traveling together when he worked for Foy Construction Company. Grace was a longtime resident of Hutchinson and a member of Park Place Christian Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Margrett A. Lancaster, Carbon, Texas; two grandchildren, Tracy Plum and husband Don of Carbon, Texas and Philip Dierks and wife Barbara of Inman; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Dierks and Kaci Rempe, both of Inman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; four brothers, Harold, Wayne, Earl and Bill Feese; and five sisters, Eva Milburn, Mable Crossland, Genevieve "Tiny" Sickmon, Geneva Sitton and Wanda Basnett Kidd.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with the Reverend David Dubovich presiding. Memorials may be made to Friends in Action or Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
