Greg A. Thiessen, 53, died Sept. 11, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 15, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Phillip and Alma (Martens) Thiessen.

Greg graduated from Nickerson High School in 1981. He worked at Tyson Foods for 35 years, most recently as a cook. Greg was a member of the United States Parachute Association, National Rifle Association, and First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson.

He married Carmella Hall. They later divorced. On Sept. 26, 2014, he married Lorna Jean Ellis in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: children, Tarin Maley Farmer and husband Anthony of Kansas City, Mo., Hunter and Heidi Thiessen of South Hutchinson; stepson, Bradlee Ellis of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Lydia Farmer of Kansas City, Mo.; step granddaughter, Kie Ellis of Little River; mother, Alma Thiessen of South Hutchinson; sister, Janet Bever and husband Jim of Hutchinson; niece, Jordan Bever of Hutchinson; nephew, Jack Bever of Manhattan; in-laws, Madge and Rudy Pauls of Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Road, Hutchinson, with Pastors Tonya Ramer Wenger and Nathan Koontz officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
