Greta P. Adkins' Obituary
Greta P. Adkins, 74, died Sept. 17, 2009, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born July 25, 1935, in Independence, the daughter of Henry Christian and Olga Miessler Meyer. A resident of Hutchinson, she retired after 37 years as a teacher.
She belonged to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hutchinson.
On Feb. 14, 1959, she married William Adkins in Independence. He survives.
Other survivors include: son, William H. and wife Courtney, Buhler; daughters, Wendy Pankratz, Hutchinson, and Gretchen Jabben, Overland Park; seven grandchildren; son-in-law, Kurtis Jabben, Olathe; and former son-in-law, Steve Pankratz, Buhler. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, with Pastor Ron Oldenettel presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed.
The family will greet friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at the Elliott Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association or Hospice of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
