Guandola A."Gwen" Amrine, 88, died April 8, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Hutchinson, to John T. and Beatrice G. (Miller) Van Dyne.
Gwen graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945. She was a data clerk and Para Educator for RCEC from 1979-1992. Gwen was a member of Full Gospel Assembly, where she played the organ and piano.
After Full Gospel Assembly closed in 2012, she started attending First Church of the Nazarene. On Aug. 31, 1946, she married Charles Martin Amrine in Hutchinson. He died July 11, 2007.
Gwen is survived by: sons, Ray Amrine and wife Pat of Hutchinson, Carl Amrine and wife Debbie of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Pam Amrine Lane; grandchildren, Julie Humphrey, Jennifer Nelson, David Amrine, Tasha Miller, Curtis Amrine, Travis Amrine; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden, Mariah, Whitney, Cassie, Sydney, Reese, Teagan, Cole, Destiny, Angelina, Elexis, Austin, Leland, Danica; sister, Lois Staats; and brothers, John and Harold Van Dyne. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clias Van Dyne; and son, Daniel Martin Amrine.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel with Pastors Randall Harrell and Tom Dillwith officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene or Hospice and Homecare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
