Obituary

Guy Warren Mack, 89, died March 5, 2007, at Thorne Care Center.

He was born Jan. 17, 1918, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Guy Edgar and Elizabeth Rebeccah Newton Mack. He graduated from Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, Iowa. A resident of Hutchinson since 1965, he was a general sales manager for Carey Salt Company and was an energy use consultant for Kansas Power and Light, retiring in 1984.

He was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, where he served as an elder, was a member of Score, and was a volunteer for Hutchinson Public Library Book Store, Meals on Wheels and Youth Friends at Lincoln Elementary School. He served as a personnel officer for the Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Ga., during World War II.

On July 21, 1942, he married Margot I. Jorgensen, in Reno, Nev. She survives.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Barbara Bleeker and husband, Gerrit, Emporia, Marilyn Curry and husband, Kris, Newburgh, Ind., and Janet Zwier and husband, Robert, North Canton, Ohio; a brother, Newton F., North Platte, Neb.; two sisters, Dorothy Mushrush, Kerville, Texas, and Patricia Pyle, Pharr, Texas; grandchildren, G. Warren and Martha Bleeker, Adam Curry and Robin Curry Minton, and Michael and Steven Zwier; and five great-grandchildren, Noah, Lydia and Gideon Curry, and Owen and Jack Minton.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar E. Mack.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Tim Soule and Helen Moore Spath presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Friday at the mortuary. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
