H. William 'Bill' Powell, 90, of Hutchinson, died July 24, 2018, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born December 14, 1927, in Hutchinson, to Harold Benjamin and Ollie (Ricksecker) Powell.

Bill graduated from Reno County High School, Nickerson. He was a farmer and an airplane pilot for various local companies.

On April 17, 1948, he married Barbara Vetter in Hutchinson. She died July 20, 2001. Bill is survived by: daughters, Kay Pattinson of Wichita, Mora Zinn of Milford, Iowa, Janie Chambers of Lenexa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, at Wesley Towers Evans Chapel, 3709 Asbury Place, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Richard G. Brooks officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Evans Chapel.
