Harlo Virgil Regier, 89, died Monday, July 26, 2010 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born November 5, 1929 in Hutchinson, the son of David and Anna Bowen Regier.

A 1947, graduate of Buhler High School, his basketball team is in the Kansas High School Basketball Hall of Fame, he was a realtor and owner of Continental Realty, past president of Eagles #453 and Hutchinson Homebuilders Association, past state president Kansas Elks Association, Wichita Elks #427, was on the Board of Directors at Prairie Independent Living and VFW Auxiliary.

On July 8, 1961, he married Eileen M. Baumrucker in Russell. She survives.

Other survivors and their spouses include: a son, Wayne and Darrelyn, Olathe; a daughter, Kathryn and Dennis Bise, New Rochelle, New York; a sister, Twila Kruse, McPherson; three brothers-in-law, Irving Schroeder, Hillsboro, Tom Baumrucker, and Steve and Nancy Baumrucker, all of Hays; six grandchildren, Ben and Faye Miller, Kaci and Bryan Brutto, Cris Miller, Kelli and Danny Hermon, Kyle and Ashley Regier, Corey Bise; three great-granddaughters, Rori and Carly Brutto, Audrey Miller; and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Schroeder, brother-in-law, Stanley Kruse, and a niece, Bev Schroeder.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.  Elks funeral ritual will be conducted by past presidents of Kansas Elks.
