Harold E. Cooper, 82, died June 24, 2007 at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1925 in Hugoton, the son of Charles Levitt and Lillian May Stuart Cooper. He was a Reno County resident for most of his life. He was a 1943 graduate of Reno Community High School, Nickerson. He also attended the University of Kansas and Colorado School of Trades, Denver. He was employed at Cessna Fluid Power Division, Hutchinson, for 36 years, retiring in 1987 as a manager of vendor quality assurance. He served in the 19th
Regiment Cost Artillery, Southern California Defense Sector, and the 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Division, serving in the Philippines and Japan during World War II.
He was a member of First Church Of God and was a past board member of the church.
On Oct. 14, 1950, he married Onie L. Entz in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Cooper and wife Carolyn, St. Joseph, MO and Preston "Pat" Cooper and wife Vickie, Hutchisnon; one daughter, Kathleen Sue Miller and husband Daryl, Hutchinson; one sister Leona I. Friesen, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and an infant sister.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Tim Yates
presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson with military rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
