Harold E. Erichsen Sr., 85, died June 25, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 7, 1924, on the family farm near Junction City, the son of Albert and Ruth Snell Erichsen. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1941. A farmer and stockman, he enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
On February 14, 1948, he married JoAnn E. Richardson in Hutchinson. She died September 23, 1993. He then married Marion L. Koepcke Switzer on October 15, 1994, in Tonto Basin, Arizona. She survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Albert Erichsen II and wife Jeannie of Hutchinson, and Harold Erichsen Jr. and wife Susan of Junction City; stepsons, Bill Switzer of Horse Cave, Kentucky, and Bob Switzer of The Dalles, Oregon; stepdaughter, Barbara Nitso of Tonto Basin, Arizona; grandchildren, Sonja K. Woods, Carley Erichsen, Paul Erichsen, Amanda Erichsen; a step-granddaughter, Renee Simpson; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kisner, and a granddaughter, Jayme Erichsen.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Thomas B. Mendenhall presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Service and burial will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Cemetery, Clarks Creek, Junction City, KS.
