Harold Morris Funston, 91, died May 5, 2009, at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 6, 1918, the son of Elmer Morris and Grace Bell Slifer Funston.

He graduated from Abilene High School in 1937. He was a shipping and receiving manager for Montgomery Ward and Sears in Abilene, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Doris Jean Strunk, Wheatridge, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen M. Tarr.

Graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday in Abilene Cemetery. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
