Obituary

Harold G. Hoffman, 80, died Dec. 18, 2007, at Hospice House.

He was born Aug. 1, 1927, at Wichita, the son of Harold and Cleora Richardson Hoffman. In 1945 he graduated from Wichita East High School and attended Wichita State University. He was a PGA Golf Professional for 34 years, retiring in 1988 from Carey Park Golf Course.

He belonged to First Congressional Church, a 50-year member of the PGA and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

On Oct. 3, 1952, he married Vinita E. Hood at Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Michael Hoffman, Hutchinson; a stepbrother, Kenny Law and wife Lorita, Winfield; a stepsister, Jo Shartzer, Wichita; uncle Francis Scott; nephews, Phil and Richard Hoffman; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hoffman.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Wichita Park Cemetery, Wichita, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
