Harold Chester Parnell, 88, died June 20, 2013, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kan. He was born June 5, 1925, to Chester and Verla Davis-Parnell in Kiowa County, Kan. He was a farmer, loved working on tractors, skilled in electrical systems and Hospital maintenance. A loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include: Joyce Ilene Smith of Missouri; daughters, Eunice Officer of Stover, Mo., Naomi Ullum and husband Gary of Hutchinson, Kan., Lois Weber and husband Marty of Kansas City, Mo.; son, Jim Parnell and wife Joan of Halstead, Kan.; stepson, Mike Dusky and wife Michelle of Texas; son-in-laws, Daryl Bookout of Hutchinson, Kan., Marvin Goering of Murdock, Kan.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Faith Dusky of Marten's Ferry, Iowa; and daughter, Esther Bookout Goering.
A memorial gathering will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Union Valley Bible Church with Pastor Steve Hodgson presiding. Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, is in charge of arrangements.
