Harold Frank Shipley, 57, died Nov. 20, 2006, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born May 25, 1949, in Langdon, the son of Frank Elbert and Mary Areba "Reba" Ball Shipley. In 1967, he graduated from Hutchinson High School, and Hutchinson Community College in 1982. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, he worked for Underground Vaults and Storage for 18 years, was an insurance agent and also worked for Jackson Dairy for seven and a half years.
He was a member of the Teamsters. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1971 as a radioman E-4.
On May 17, 1975, he married Doris Elaine Moore in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Frank Shipley and wife, Emily, Chicago; a daughter, Erin Meyers and husband, Tyson, Hutchinson; two sisters, DeEtta Daniels and husband, Ralph, Denver, and Roberta Rue, Pineville, Mo.; and a grandson, Cooper Jeffrey Meyers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Leroy Shipley.
Funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Darryl Peterson officiating. Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Chapel. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
