Harriet G. Stevens' Obituary
Harriet G. Stevens, 86, died Nov. 13, 2013, in Lawrence, Kan. She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Peter and Katherine Pauls Kroeker.
Harriet was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, attended Hutchinson Junior College and the University of Arizona. She married John H. "Jack" Stevens Nov. 3, 1951, in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 12, 2007. Harriet was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and P.E.O., both of Hutchinson.
Survivors include: sons, Joseph and his wife Bonnie Stevens of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Ted and his wife Kathy Stevens of Lawrence, Kan.; grandsons, Miles and Wyatt Stevens, both of Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and a brother, Wilbur Kroeker.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Rev. Mike McGuire officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Hospice of Lawrence, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
