Harry C. Burnett, 83, died Sept. 29, 2008 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Jan. 12, 1925, on a farm near Arlington, the son of James and Juanita Applegate Burnett.
A lifetime resident of Arlington, he was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church. For over 50 years he belonged to the Cable Masonic Lodge #199.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On April 20, 1947 he married Frances Warner in Arlington. She survives in the home.
Other survivors include: a son, Scott and wife Rhonda Burnett; two daughters, Beth Burnett and husband Greg Patterson, and Christie Burnett, all of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by a brother, Walt and wife Betty Burnett, Hutchinson; five grandchildren: Sam, Jake, Anna, Ben, and Katie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Esther Hughbanks.
Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008 at Arlington United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Keeling presiding. Visitation will be 1p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Private family interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington.
Harry was proud of his service to the Reno County Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to either of these organizations in care of the mortuary.
