Harry Allen Troyer, 90, died Jan. 24, 2016, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. He was born Dec. 1, 1925, on the family farm near Yoder, to Jerry and Mattie Troyer.
Harry farmed for 60 years near Yoder and was an avid fisherman. Harry loved collecting John Deere tractors and spending time with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.
On March 25, 1945, he married Ruth Yoder on the family farm. She died June 13, 2015. Survivors include: daughters, Mary Lawson and husband Paul of Hutchinson, Verda Rempel and husband Darriel of Sun City West, Ariz., Vicki Kauffman and husband Dale of Haven; son-in-law, Steve Sears; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Emma Bontrager of South Hutchinson, Clara Miller of Fairview, Mich.; and a brother, Jerry Troyer of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by: his wife; daughter, Vera Sears; son-in-law, Wayne Beachy; and brothers, John, Ora, William, Mose and Fred Troyer.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Journey@Yoder Church, 3605 E. Longview Rd., with Pastors Howard Wagler and Eric Miller presiding. Burial will take place in Yoder Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Journey@Yoder Church.
