Obituary

Haven Sue Stambaugh, 11, of Hutchinson, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Children's Hospital Colorado, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born March 7, 2006, in Salina, to Eric and Amanda (Haskell) Stambaugh.

Haven just completed the fifth grade at Union Valley Grade School. She loved music, especially playing her flute, arts and crafts, and watching her brother, Ethan, play sports. Haven inspired everyone to be a better person and accepted everyone as a member of her family. She had a passion for helping others, and will be fondly remembered as a true inspiration who, despite adversity, never complained about her illness. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.

Survivors include: parents, Eric and Amanda; brother, Ethan, age 12; maternal grandparents, Alan and Sandra Haskell of Tuttle, Oklahoma; paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Ed and Mary Dobkins of Hutchinson; paternal grandfather, James Stambaugh of Belle Plaine; great-grandparents, Clinton and Pearl Haskell of Beaver, Oklahoma, Kenneth and Maudine Stinnett of Belle Plaine; uncle and aunt, Trace and Kendra Haskell of Liberal; and uncle, Dru Stambaugh of Arkansas City; cousins, Joseph and Kaytee Haskell; and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. Haven loved all her family.  Haven was preceded in death by: stepgrandmother, Deanna Stambaugh; great-grandparents, Dalton and Viola Abbott, Ethel and Rusty Tomlinson, Virginia and Francis Dobkins, and Gladys and Victor Stambaugh.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th, Hutchinson, with Keith Bryant and Galen Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. To celebrate Haven's love for life, please wear bright colors to her service. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
