Hazel M. Jackson, 73, died July 25, 2017, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born December 4, 1943, in Salem, AR, to Albert and Sybil (Stanley) Farra. Hazel retired from Cessna/Eaton Corp.
Hazel loved fishing and gardening. In her spare time she also enjoyed going to car races, crocheting, and watching the western channel, especially John Wayne movies.
Hazel is survived by: sons, Jay E. Mattison, Mark Mattison and wife Suzy; close family friend, Keith 'Beak' Nelson; sisters, Wanda Garcia and husband Rudy 'Juni', Betty Simpson, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, AJ Cole and family, Daniel Cole Mattison and family, Bobby Guy and family, Jaydon Mattison; and beloved dog, Mose. She was preceded in death by: her parents; infant twin daughters, Rona and Ronda Mattison; brothers, James 'Jimmy' Farra, Leon Farra; sister, Dorina Mendoza; and former husband, Jay Mattison.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend William J. Green Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
