Hazel R. Kroening, 93, died May 26, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Rice County near Sterling, the daughter of B. Frank and Ethyl M. Forsythe Taylor. A Hutchinson resident since 1932, she was a beautician and later a homemaker.
She and her husband were members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was an active participant in various church organizations including, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Keenagers and Braille Workers.
On April 26, 1936, she married Paul F. Kroening in Lincoln. He died Aug. 24, 1978.
Survivors include their children: a daughter, Saundra Grimm and husband, Carl, Hutchinson; a son, Dwayne and wife, Ginny, Saratoga, Calif.; a brother, Vernon Taylor, Wichita; two granddaughters, Sherri Hose and husband, Geoffrey, Overland Park, and Denise Grimm, Boulder, Colo.; and a great-grandson, Paul Hose.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton, Fay and Glenn Taylor.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Thomas B. Mendenhall presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
