Helen Blazina, 92, died Oct. 10, 2011, at Lyons Hospital, Lyons, Kan. She was born Aug. 18, 1919, to James and Mary Brant Brozek in Wilson, Kan.

She graduated from Lucus High School and later became a LPN for Lyons and Hutchinson Hospitals. She was also a lifetime member of the Ladies V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #3184, Lyons, Kan. She also attended church at St. Teresa Catholic Church.

Helen married Joseph Albert Blazina on Oct. 3, 1938, in Russell, Kan. He died Aug. 13, 1998.

Survivors include: son, Joseph Blazina and wife Bitsy Dawn of Hutchinson, Kan.; daughters, Joan Peterman of Lyons. Kan., Kathy Immesote of Hutchinson, Kan., Judy Henderson of Lyons, Kan., Janet Herrman of Hutchinson, Kan.; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren; and brother, Emanuel Brozek of Kanopolis, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters; seven brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Mike McGovney presiding. Burial to follow at Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Kan. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
