Obituary

Helen Ann Dean, 82, died Oct. 1, 2007, at Peach Tree Place, Weatherford, Texas.

She was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Lake Forest, Ill., the daughter of George W. and Mildred White Wilson. She graduated in 1944 from the College of William & Mary Richmond Professional Institute. A resident of Hutchinson since 1952, she was a homemaker and retired in1978, and was an administrative secretary with USD No. 308 and USD No. 313.

She belonged to First Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer at Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of Chapter BL of PEO.

On Dec. 11, 1945, in Richmond, Va., she married Richard W. Dean Jr. He died Jan. 9, 1989.

Survivors include: a son, David, and wife, Lori, Willow Park, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Dr. William Stuart, Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren, Celilia Dean, Sterling, Va., George Dean, Weatherford, Texas, Sam Dean, Lawrence, Abe Dean, Willow Park, Texas, and Haven Arnold, Murfreesboro, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard W. III.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Tim Soule presiding. Private family graveside will be held prior at Penwell-Gable Cemetery and Mausoleum. Friends may sign book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation was chosen. Family will receive friends following the memorial services in the church parlor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hutchinson Hospital Foundation, in care of the mortuary.
