Helen Martin's Obituary
Helen M. Martin, 94, died July 11, 2012, at Alta Ridge Alzheimer's Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Lloyd Skinner and Ola Myrtle (Stevens) Skinner.
She graduated from Hutchinson High School and worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a RN in surgery 1949 to 1965.
She married the late Julian Wilbur Ragsdale in 1940, and the late George C Martin in 1962.
Helen was a member of the Trinity United Methodist church in Hutchinson, Silver Leaf Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: son, Julian Lloyd Ragsdale of Tucson, Ariz.; and daughter, Carolyn Ragsdale McMillen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Beverly Martin Miller of Trophy Club, Texas. She also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Wilbur Ragsdale of Lebanon, Mo.; sister, Charlene Zahn Tilford.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Sylvia, Kansas Cemetery, with Pastor Steven Gill presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
