WICHITA - Helen Louise Mooney Mullen, 79, died Feb. 23, 2011, at the Family Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wichita.

She was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Hutchinson, Kan., the daughter of Michael John and Margaret Louise Hamilton Mooney.

Helen was a member of the Church Of The Holy Cross, Hutchinson.

On April 19, 1952, she married Robert "Moon" Mullen in Hutchinson. He died March 30, 2004.

Survivors include: three sons, Tim Mullen and wife Cindy, Kevin Mullen and wife Nancy, John Mullen and wife Cheri, all of Wichita; daughter, Karen Kennedy and husband Aaron of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Michael J. Mooney, Jr. of Hutchinson; two sisters, Margaret A. Hohl of Wichita, Mary E. Bauer of Plano, Texas; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister. Her generous spirit touched a wide circle of family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with rosary at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Father Dan Spexarth presiding. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the Church Of The Holy Cross, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
