Obituary

Helen Lucille Norris, 75, died Feb. 1, 2008, at Thorne Care Center.

She was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Shadduck, Okla., the daughter of Orville and Helen Smith Thomas. She graduated in 1952 from Guymon (Okla.) High School. A longtime resident of Pratt, moving to Hutchinson in 1995, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to the First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, attended the First Baptist Church, Pratt, was a volunteer for the Kansas Cosmosphere, Reno County Sheriff Senior Patrol, the Reno County Commodities, and the Pratt Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary.

On Nov. 23, 1952, she married Hardin Dean Norris in Liberal. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Greg and wife Kathleen, Salina; three daughters, Ruth Ann Barker and husband Gary, Pratt, RaLinda Hoffman and husband Rick, Topeka, and KayeLynne Hoeme and husband Mike, Topeka; two brothers, Buddy Thomas, Wichita, and Bill Thomas, Houston; a sister, Carolyn Collins, Benton; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Wayne and Ernest Thomas.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, with Pastor Stephen Taylor presiding. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Visitation will from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church, or Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the mortuary.
