Henrietta "Etta" Taylor, 89, died July 7, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Turon, to James Malon and Ida Etta (Fry) Pennel.
On Nov. 1, 1942, she married Robert Taylor in Hutchinson. He died Nov. 10, 2010.
Etta retired from Dillons, working in the meat market, after 24 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and was a wonderful cook. Etta was a member of Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ.
Survivors include: sisters, Ramona Rescoe of Rapid City, Mich., Juanita Pritchard and husband Claudia of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Taylor of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Terry Hendricks and Penny Barker, both of Hutchinson; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Phillip Eugene Taylor; granddaughter, Candy Glaser; brothers, Willard, Joe, and Marion Pennel and Johnnie Sutton; and sisters, Irene Ridge, Violia Carmichael, Mary Imel, and Martha Baker.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at the Turon Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. The family invites friends and family to join them for a luncheon at the Turon Senior Center following the graveside service. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
