Obituary

LOWELL, Ark. - Henry F. Lawson, 95, died Jan. 21, 2009, in Lowell, Ark.

He was born Aug. 22, 1913, in War Eagle, Ark., to Ward and Lillian Evans Lawson.

On Nov. 26, 1932, he married Oma V. Danley in Bentonville, Ark. She died Aug. 21, 1988.

He attended Free Will Baptist Church in Arkansas.

He had been a member of and a song leader at Westside Baptist Church in Hutchinson, which he helped build in the 1950s. He also helped build and was a song leader at Bible Baptist Church in Hutchinson. From 1952-1992 he was a long haul truck driver. Henry belonged to a camping club, loved his garden, and enjoyed family gatherings.

On July 5, 1991, he married Joan Lavoie in Springdale, Ark. She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Paul Lawson and wife Mary, Hutchinson, daughter, Joyce Haney and husband Francis, Hutchinson; brother Ron Lawson and wife Eleanor, Wichita; two step-sons, Mike Hunter and wife Jami and Bob Hunter and wife Brenda, all of Springdale, Ark; step-daughter Denise Johnson and husband John, Springdale, Ark. 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Oma, a brother Cliff, and a sister Kathren Lawson.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Destry Cowell officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
