Obituary

Henry Joseph Yunck, 92, died April 2, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital E.R.

He was born April 22, 1913, in Portsmouth, Iowa, the son of Joseph P. and Mary Margaret Cavanaugh Yunck. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he graduated from Dowling High School, West Des Moines, Iowa, and from LaSalle Extension University in Traffic Management ICC Practitioner. He was general traffic manager of the Colorado Milling and Elevator Co. in Denver. He retired from FarMarCo as Vice President and director of transportation.

He belonged to Church of the Holy Cross, and was a member of Knights of Columbus No. 612, Harvest House, and Trinity Catholic High School Booster Club.

On April 28, 1941, he married Ann Margaret "Nan" Jenkins in Sioux City, Iowa. She survives.

He is survived by a nephew, Bill Graif; and three nieces, Catherine Davis, Mary Clark and Rosemary Reeves.

He was preceded in death by: a brother, William Joseph; and three sisters, Margaret Mary Graif-Manley, Marita Yunck and an infant sister.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Holy Cross. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the church or to Trinity Catholic High School Endowment Fund both in care of the mortuary.
