Hilda Bess Colburn's Obituary
Hilda Bess Colburn, 97, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Dillon Living Center in Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 28, 1912, at Erie, Kansas, the daughter of George F. and Grace M. Shelts Roberts.
She attended elementary school at Erie, and high school at Terlton (Okla.), where she graduated in 1929. She was a homemaker.
She married A. Austen Colburn on June 18, 1932, at Jennings, Okla. He died April 10, 2006.
Survivors include: sons, Alva Colburn and wife Virginia, Tonasket, Washington, Wayne Colburn and wife Nancy, Hutchinson, and Charles Colburn and wife Carol, Atlanta, Ks.; a daughter Judy Sisk and husband Charles, Arvada, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alva and Fred; sisters, Lily and Ora; and a grandson, Phillip Kent Colburn.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and inurnment will take place at a later date in Terlton, Okla.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Dillon Living Center Foundation, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
