Homer S. Pierce's Obituary
Homer S. Pierce, 85, died December 28, 2012, at McPherson Memorial Hospital in McPherson. He was born December 16, 1927, to Homer and Dorothy (McCullough) Pierce. He had many interests. He farmed for the majority of his life, but was also well-known as a skilled carpenter. However, he was mostly known for his dedication to his family and was especially proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
On November 26, 1944, he married Norma J. Boyd in Cimarron, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include: children, Nancy Courtney and husband John of Springfield, Mo., Larry Pierce and wife Shawanna of Hutchinson, Rodney Pierce of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tim Pierce and wife Connie of Crescent City, CA; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Alva Hubbard, brother, Don Pierce, and grandson, John C. Courtney.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, is in charge of arrangements.
