Howard Clinton "Clint" Peacock, 83, died Oct. 2, 2010, at Stafford County Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Lyons, to Howard P. and Martha Jane Miller Peacock.
He attended Mitchell schools. On Oct. 31, 1944, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving until honorably discharged on July 5, 1946. He was a member of the V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and a former member of the Kansas Flying Farmers. He was a farmer and rancher.
Sixty-two years ago on Nov. 16, 1947, he married Josie June Lavielle at Sylvia. She died Jan. 2, 2010. Survivors include: a son, Howard Laurant Peacock, Burrton; a daughter, Gayla Sue Peacock Moeckel, Plevna; granddaughter, Marcella Marie Moeckel Smiley and husband Todd, Sylvia; great-grandson, Cash Dean Smiley; and son-in-law, Roger Stroberg, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharon Kay Peacock Stroberg; and a son-in-law, Jeffrey R. Moeckel.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Gill presiding. Burial will follow in Sylvia Cemetery, Sylvia. Friends may call from 5pm to 9pm Sunday and from 9am to 9pm Monday at the mortuary.
