Howard Hollingsworth was a practicing dentist in Hutchinson, Kan. for 52 years and never complained once about "going to work".

He loved the profession of dentistry. He also loved his wife, his family, his church, his friends, his patients and the game of golf. Knowledge of honors and accomplishments bestowed upon Howard will soon fade away, but memories of his humor, generosity, honesty, good deeds, and sincerity are planted in the minds and hearts of all who knew him.

Howard was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Whitsitt. He is survived by his wife, Gerry; his son-in-law, Mike Whitsitt; Michele and Mike's children, Katie and Stuart Martens, Rachel Whitsitt and Ben Whitsitt; son, Michael and Tammy Hollingsworth and their children, Sydney Hollingsworth and Barrett Hollingsworth; son, Mitchell and Lisa Hollingsworth and their daughter, Riley Hollingsworth. Preceding Howard in death are his sisters and their husbands, Mae and George Bennett, Jean and Jack Kimbrough. Other survivors are his nieces, Jane and Lyn Koch, Raynetta and Gary Manweiler.

The Memorial service for Howard will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main Street, Hutchinson, with Pastors Jim Rhaesa and Mike McGuire officiating. A reception will follow in the church parlor and casual dress for the service is appropriate. A committal service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Prairie Dunes Country Club, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reins of Hope or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
