Howard M. "Mitt" McVay, 79, died May 31, 2016. He was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Hutchinson, the son of Howard and Alta McVay.

He was a 1954 graduate of Hutchinson High School, a member of First Church of the Nazarene, and former owner of McVay Brothers Inc., a company that was operated in Hutchinson for more than 107 years.

On Aug. 16, 1972, he married Juanita M. Blye in Wyoming. She survives. Other survivors include: seven children, James (Dana) of Great Bend, Jennifer McVay (Greg) of Fort Mill, SC, Jessica McVay, Denver, Colo., Michael of Seattle, Wash., Mark of Moore, Okla., Janet Gilbertson of West Palm Beach, Fla., Wayne Vincent, Richmond, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kent Pedersen presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family present from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
