Obituary

Howard Calvin Warner, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011.

He was born May 17, 1922, at Arlington, the son of Donald Carrol and Cleda Geneva Taylor Warner.

He was a 1938 graduate of Arlington High School, a Navy Air Corps veteran, member of Apostolic Christian Church, Wichita, in which he served as song leader, Sunday school teacher and superintendent for over 55 years. Howard was a lab technician for Cessna Aircraft Company with 30 years of service retiring in 1987.

On Aug. 29, 1942, he married Anna Marie Young in Belle Plaine. She survives.

Other survivors include: their children and spouses, Gwendolyn and Tom Miller of Escondido, Calif., Donald and Becky Warner of Arlington, Cynthia Warner of Austin, Ark., Roiann and Scotty Broome of Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin and Gloria Warner of Hutchinson; a brother, Ronald Warner of North Palm Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Lela Byrum of Oklahoma City, Doris Richardson of Winfield, Mary Poole of Stafford; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Calvin and Edward; a daughter, Dorcas Demming; three brothers, Lawrence "LB", Edwin and Donald; and a sister, Rose Robinson.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Westside Baptist Church, 400 West 12th Avenue, with Cory Metzger and Glenn Funk officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, with Navy military honors. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Apostolic Christian Church, in care of the mortuary.
