Obituary

Ila Mae Waller, 90, died Feb. 17, 2009, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born Feb. 23, 1918, in Covington, Ga., the daughter of Clifford "Bud" and Lillian Belcher Kelly. She was a Hutchinson resident since she was three years old. She graduated from Hutchinson High School.

Her occupations included housekeeping and catering work for families. She was a member of the St. John's C.M.E. Church, she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school for many years at the church.

She married Charles Waller. He died in 1950. She later married Donald Vaughn. He died Jan. 18, 2005.

Survivors include: sons, The Honorable Gregory Waller and wife Darla, Wichita, and Stanley Waller and wife Debbie, Hutchinson; daughter, Sandra Dawson, Hutchinson; step-daughters, Jerry Tipton and husband Eddie, Hutchinson and Johness Eillestie and husband Kurt, Lyons; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, McClinton, Warren and Augustus, five sisters, Josephine, Ardella, Frances, Gertrude, and Rena, and one son, Marc A. Waller, on Jan. 14, 2009.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, with Rev. Johnny W. Augmon and Pastor Charles Tillman presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
