Imogene V. "Jean" Mobley, 90, died Dec. 22, 2016, at Hospice House. She was born March 2, 1926, in Welch, Okla., the daughter of Ira "Pat" and Opal (Rogers) McNelis. She was a graduate of Welch High School.
Prior to raising her family, she was a teacher at a one-room schoolhouse, "Rosie the Riveter" working at Boeing Aircraft during WWII, telephone operator at the Allis Hotel in Wichita and phone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
Jean married Jack K. Mobley Sept. 3, 1949, in Eureka Springs, Ark. Jack died Aug. 24, 2000. They were Hutchinson residents since 1957, moving here from Turon. The Mobleys owned and operated Carl's Furniture Store in Hutchinson. Jean is survived by: daughters, Vicki and Dan Sedlacek, Papillion, Neb., Deborah and Jerry Clasen, Nickerson; sons, Michael and Jeanie Mobley and Murray and Tanya Mobley, all of Hutchinson; sister, Velma "Pat" Christenson, Miami, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and five brothers and sisters.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
