Inez L. Burling, 95, died June 24, 2007 at Seton North West Hospital, Austin, Texas.

She was born July 16, 1911, in Bucklin the daughter of Robert and Ella Chapman Harlow.

She was a longtime Arlington resident where she devoted her life to her family, farms, church and community. She enjoyed many hobbies and was an excellent seamstress, a skill she passed on to her daughter. She traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and over 25 countries. She loves to spend time in her garden growing beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables. Her biggest passion was collecting and making dolls. She was featured in the newspaper because of her amazing collection of over 2,000 dolls, many of which she made by hand.

On Aug. 1, 1937 she married Robert Burling in Satanta. He died Aug. 6, 1963.

Survivors include: a daughter, Louise Phillips, Georgetown, Texas; three brothers, Austin of Wichita, Henry and Oliver, Satanta; two sisters, Faye Foster, Lamar, Colo. and Fern Williams, Kingman; three grandchildren, Angelia McIntyre, Laura Angelucci and David Phillips; a great granddaughter,Sophia Angelucci

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Arling Presbyterian Church with interment following at Arlington Cemetery. There will be a guest book to sign from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary.
