INMAN - Inez J. Olson, 98, died Nov. 17, 2011, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born Dec. 3, 1912, in Inman, to Carl Emil and Emilie Otelia Peterson Olson.
Inez taught in several elementary schools in McPherson County. She served as a missionary in Tanzania, Africa, for 25 years. She was a member of Andover Lutheran Church, adult bible class, Women Civic Center, American Association of University Women, and AARP Chapter 451. Inez graduated from Inman High School in 1932, Bethany College in 1945, and received a Master's degree from Colorado Teachers College in 1963. She is survived by a sister, Gladys Shook of Hutchinson and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Everett Olson; and sisters, Ruth Johnson, Edith Volk, J. Viola Olson, and Doris Lock.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Andover Lutheran Church, 115 Dakota Road, Windom, with Reverend Tom Hallowell officiating. Burial will follow in Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Andover Lutheran Church, in care of the mortuary
