Obituary

Ira A. Miller, 84, died October 14, 2010, at Creighton University Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born February 21, 1926, in rural Hutchinson, the son of William Edward and Emma Nisly Miller.

A longtime resident of Partridge, he was a farmer and a carpenter. Ira was a member of The Word of Life Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson, and was active in the Mennonite Disaster Services. He also served as a former mayor for Partridge.

On April 16, 1950, he married Clara Helmuth in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: daughters, Doris Stutzman and husband Gary, Sedgwick, Rita Nisly and husband Merle, Red Lake, Ontario; son, Howard Miller and wife Carolyn, Fishersville, Virginia; daughter, Kathleen Yoder and husband Duane, Hutchinson, daughter-in-law, Carrie Miller, Rio Rancho, NM; 13 brothers and sisters; 13 grandchildren, Travis and Misty Stutzman, Tricia and Kyle Holder, Candace Miller, Elliott Miller, Rhonda and Matthew Slaubaugh, Robyn and Daryl Schantz, Karla and Kirk Kauffman, Kim and José Arauz, Hannah Miller, Joshua Miller, Brad Yoder, Kelly and Kelcy Voth, Greg Yoder and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Duane Miller.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 18th, 2010, at Plainview Mennonite Church, Partridge, with Pastors Howard Miller and Merle Nisly presiding. Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Living Hope Native Ministries based in Red Lake, Ontario, in care of Elliott Mortuary.
