Irene G. Turnbull, 104, died Feb. 13, 2009, at Golden Years Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born March 29, 1904, in Grant County, Okla., the daughter of John H. and Mabel Kerr Massie. A resident of Hutchinson since 1931, she was a sales clerk for a grocery store in Careyville and then later for Coberly Drug Store.

She belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ.

Survivors include: her granddaughters, Jean Jones Moore and Patty Carleton, both of Hutchinson, and Linda Snow and husband Tony, Dodge City; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons and 13 brothers and sisters.

At Irene's request, there will be no public visitation or services. A private graveside service will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
