Obituary

Irma L. Bruner Schrader, 92, died June 26, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

She was born June 8, 1919, in Woods County, Okla., the daughter of Wilbert Delano and Ann Eliza Ford Bruner.

She graduated from Horace Mann High School in Alva, Okla., she then received her Bachelors in Music from Northwestern State University in Alva, Okla., and in 1964, she received her Masters in Psychology from Emporia State University. She worked as a Psychology Instructor at Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge, Iowa. Irma was extremely active in her church and numerous activities. She was a member of the First Church of God, in which she was named the 2010 Laywoman of the year for the Church of God in the state of Kansas.

On Oct. 18, 1941, she married Everett Niles Schrader in Coldwater, Kan. He died Aug. 10, 1992.

Survivors include: six children, Gary N. Schrader of San Jose, Calif., Dan J. Schrader and wife Nikki of Laguna Hills, Calif., Ronald M. Schrader of Albuquerque, NM, Deborah J. Stenstrom and husband David of Exira, Iowa, Jane E. Munoz and husband Jose of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dennis K. Schrader of Wellington, Kan.; five grandchildren, Laurie Schrader, John Stenstrom, Matt Stenstrom, Benjamin Schrader and Samuel Schrader; and a great-grandson, Colin Bellotti. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and nine brothers and sisters, Clyde, Evert, Earl, and James Bruner, Maude Hamon, Arthur and Fred Bruner, Ruth Kardatzke and Ella Lanman and a granddaughter, Jennifer Stenstrom.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor John J. Carney presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, in the Exira Cemetery, Exira, Iowa.
