Iva Faye Straley, 91, died Jan. 17, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born April 14, 1918, in Castleton to George Henry and Rosaline Virginia Levin White. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1937.
A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she worked for Cessna Aircraft doing aircraft woodwork, and was a salesperson for C.R. Anthony, and 18 years for J.C. Penney.
On Feb. 29, 1968, she married George W. Straley in Las Vegas, Nev. Her beloved husband passed away Aug. 24, 2002. Survivors include: a brother, Dale White and wife Frances, Hutchinson; step daughter, Casandra Breazier, Prescott, Ariz.; four step-granddaughters; two step-great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Elliott Chapel, Huthinson, with Rev. Tim Soule officiating. She will be laid to rest in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hospice House or Mennonite Manor in care of the mortuary.
