SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Ivan E. Hulstine, 86, died July 16, 2008, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born July 21, 1921, in Ashland, son of Leland and Ellen L. Pike Hulstine.
He was a resident of South Hutchinson, moving from Ashland. He was a 1939 graduate of Ashland High School. He was a farmer and truck driver for Grimes Home Gas in Ashland for many years. He belonged to First Church of God in Hutchinson, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Ashland. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
On Sept. 1, 1943, he married Viola N. Mull in Ashland. She died June 14, 1990. He later married Velma F. Addison on Jan. 11, 1992, at Ingalls.
Survivors include: sons, Ivan E. and wife Peggy, Salina, Leland, St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughters, Margaret E. Finkbeiner and husband Allen, Russell, Martha J. Mink and husband Steve, Dodge City, Patricia M. Hulstine, Hays, Letitia F. Koehn, Caldwell; two stepchildren, Teryl Addison and wife Tammy, Orlando, Fla., Sonja Fisher and husband Mike, Hillsboro; brothers, Dean Hulstine, Ashland, Curtis Hulstine, Wichita; sisters, Phyllis M. Hulstine, Dodge City; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene Hulstine.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Church of God, with Pastor John Carney officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery, Ashland. The U.S. Coast Guard will do military honors. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson; with family to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
