Ivan L. "Van" White, 48, died Jan. 17, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Feb. 14, 1957, in Carbondale, Ill., the son of Arthur and Betty Wantland White. He graduated from Hutch-inson High School in 1975, and from Wichita Technical Institute in 1977. He had lived in North Platte, Neb., before returning to Hutchinson in 2001. He was a mechanic for Sears and J.C. Penney in North Platte, Neb., and then was a worker for Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
He was a former member of Sky Riders Drum and Bugle Corps.
On Aug. 27, 1977, he married Keta Kern.
Survivors include: a son, Scott and wife, Jennifer, North Platte; his parents, Arthur and Betty White, Hutchinson; three brothers, Richard, Larry and Don, all of Hutchinson; a granddaughter, Allison White; two nephews, Leon White, Baytown, Texas, and Marty White, Hutchinson; and two nieces, Julie Garcia, Hutchinson, and Melissa Ragland, Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gary Getting presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
